## A

**AEPP — AIESEC Entity Performance Plan** A formal improvement plan issued to an entity (LC or MC) that is underperforming against national or global standards. The Entity Control Board (ECB) typically administers the AEPP process. It defines specific targets and timelines the entity must meet to avoid further governance action.

**AI — AIESEC International** The global headquarters and leadership team of AIESEC, based in Montreal, Canada. AI sets global strategy, manages the Expa platform, publishes the Global Compendium, and organizes International Congress.

**APIP — AIESEC Partnership and Investment Programme** A programme managed by AIESEC International that governs how entities invest in growth initiatives and manage large-scale partnerships. It sets financial and operational criteria for national-level investments.

## E

**ECB — Entity Control Board** A governance body (national or global) responsible for overseeing entity performance, compliance, and accountability. In Denmark, the national ECB monitors LC standing and can initiate AEPP processes.

**ELDP — Exchange Leadership Development Path** The five-stage journey every exchange participant goes through: Awareness, Engagement, Experience, Reflection, and Action. It ensures exchanges are developmental, not just operational.

**EP — Exchange Participant** Any young person who participates in an AIESEC exchange programme (Global Volunteer, Global Talent, or Global Teacher). An EP can be outgoing (from your country) or incoming (to your country).

**Expa** AIESEC's global digital platform used to manage exchange operations, member data, opportunity listings, and organizational analytics. Every member gets an Expa account. It is the primary tool for tracking applications, approvals, and realizations.

## G

**GBM — General Body Meeting** A regular meeting of all members in a Local Committee. GBMs are used for announcements, education sessions, team bonding, and organizational updates. Most LCs hold them weekly or biweekly.

**GLE — Global Leadership Experience** The overarching framework describing how AIESEC develops leadership, combining the internal member experience, exchange experiences, and the leadership development space (conferences, education, mentoring).

**GT — Global Talent** An exchange product focused on professional internships abroad. EPs work in companies or organizations in a foreign country, gaining career-relevant experience while developing cross-cultural competencies. GT typically targets longer-duration experiences (6+ weeks).

**GTe — Global Teacher** An exchange product focused on teaching and education-related projects abroad. EPs teach languages, lead workshops, or support educational initiatives in communities around the world.

**GV — Global Volunteer** An exchange product focused on short-term volunteering projects abroad (typically 6–8 weeks). Projects are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and cover areas such as education, environmental sustainability, and community development.

## I

**IC — International Congress** The highest decision-making body of AIESEC, held annually. Delegates from every member country vote on global strategy, Compendium amendments, and the election of the new AI team.

**iCX — Incoming Exchange** The functional area responsible for hosting exchange participants who come to your country. The iCX team manages Traineeship Nomination (TN) matching, arrival logistics, accommodation, and the exchange experience for incoming EPs.

**IPM — International Presidents Meeting** A mid-year conference bringing together all Member Committee Presidents (MCPs) and senior AI leaders. Focused on reviewing mid-term progress, sharing best practices, and planning for the second half of the term.

**IR — Information Representative** A member (often a new or junior member) responsible for promoting AIESEC exchange opportunities to peers. IRs run awareness sessions, manage sign-up forms, and connect interested students with the exchange team.

## K

**KPI — Key Performance Indicator** A measurable value that tracks progress toward a specific goal. In AIESEC, KPIs are set at global, national, and local levels for exchange numbers, member engagement, financial health, and more.

## L

**LC — Local Committee** The front-line operational unit of AIESEC, usually based at a university or in a city. Each LC recruits members, runs exchange operations, and delivers the AIESEC Experience locally.

**LCP — Local Committee President** The elected leader of a Local Committee. The LCP oversees all LC operations, manages the VP team, represents the LC nationally, and is accountable to the MC and ECB.

**LCVP — Local Committee Vice-President** A Vice-President responsible for a specific function within the LC (e.g., LCVP oGX, LCVP Marketing). LCVPs manage Team Leaders and report to the LCP.

**LDM — Leadership Development Model** AIESEC's model identifying the four leadership qualities developed through the AIESEC Experience: Self-Aware, Solution-Oriented, World Citizen, and Empowering Others.

**LOCO — Local Committee Operations** A guide (sometimes called the LOCO Guide) covering the operational and governance standards that every LC must follow, including meeting procedures, voting rules, and financial reporting.

## M

**MA — Matched / Match** The stage in the exchange process where an Exchange Participant (EP) has been paired with a specific opportunity (project, internship, or teaching position). After matching, the EP proceeds to approval and realization.

**MC — Member Committee** The national leadership team of AIESEC in a given country. The MC sets national strategy, coaches LCs, manages national partnerships, and reports to AIESEC International.

**MCF — Member Committee Fee** A financial contribution that each LC pays to the MC to fund national operations, conferences, and shared resources.

**MCP — Member Committee President** The elected national president of AIESEC in a country. The MCP leads the MC, represents the entity at global events (IC, IPM), and is ultimately accountable for national performance.

**MCVP — Member Committee Vice-President** A member of the national MC responsible for a specific functional area (e.g., MCVP oGX, MCVP Marketing, MCVP Finance & Legalities).

**MoS — Measures of Success** The specific metrics used to evaluate whether a team, function, or entity is achieving its goals. MoS are tied to KPIs but often include qualitative assessments alongside quantitative targets.

**MXP — Member Experience** The framework and functional area focused on the internal experience of AIESEC members — from recruitment and onboarding through development and transition. Sometimes used interchangeably with Talent Management (TM) at the local level.

## N

**NEC — National Education Cycle** A structured series of education sessions delivered by the MC to LC members over the course of a term. NEC content typically covers functional skills, leadership development, and organizational knowledge. It is based on frameworks developed by AIESEC International.

**NPS — Net Promoter Score** A metric used to measure member and EP satisfaction. It asks: "How likely are you to recommend AIESEC to a friend?" Scores range from -100 to +100, with higher scores indicating stronger satisfaction and advocacy.

## O

**OC — Organizing Committee** A temporary team formed to plan and execute a specific event, typically a national or regional conference. OC members are recruited from across the entity.

**OCP — Organizing Committee President** The leader of an Organizing Committee, responsible for the overall delivery of the event.

**oGX — Outgoing Exchange** The functional area responsible for sending members or students from your country on an exchange abroad. The oGX team manages EP recruitment, preparation, matching, and departure logistics.

**OD — Organizational Development** A functional area focused on the internal health and growth of the organization, including structure design, knowledge management, data analysis, and strategic planning.

## R

**RA — Realized / Realization** The final stage of an exchange. A Realization (RA) is counted when an EP has completed the minimum duration of their exchange experience. RA numbers are the primary exchange KPI in AIESEC.

## S

**SDGs — Sustainable Development Goals** The 17 global goals adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a blueprint for peace and prosperity. AIESEC aligns its exchange products with specific SDGs to ensure every experience contributes to a global challenge.

## T

**TL — Team Leader** A member who manages a small team within a functional area. TLs report to their VP and are responsible for day-to-day task management, member development, and team performance.

**TM — Talent Management** The functional area responsible for the member lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, engagement, education, and transition. At the national level, the MCVP TM or MC TM Manager oversees this area.

**TN — Traineeship Nomination** The formal pairing of an incoming Exchange Participant with a host organization or project. Once a TN is accepted, the EP proceeds toward arrival and realization.

## V

**VP — Vice-President** A leadership role at the LC level (LCVP) or MC level (MCVP) responsible for a specific functional area.
