# MC Roles & Expectations

The Managing Committee (MC) is the national leadership team of AIESEC in Denmark. Elected at the National Congress, the MC is responsible for setting the national strategy, supporting Local Committees (LCs), and representing AIESEC in Denmark to AIESEC International and external stakeholders. This page provides an overview of the MC structure, each portfolio, and the application process.

## What the MC Does

The MC operates at the national level, serving three primary functions:

1. **Strategy:** Defining the national direction — exchange targets, growth priorities, organisational development goals — for the upcoming term
2. **Support:** Enabling LCs to deliver results through education, resources, coaching, and accountability
3. **Representation:** Representing Denmark at international conferences, to AIESEC International (AI), and to national external partners

The MC typically serves a one-year term, aligned with AIESEC's global planning cycle.

## MC Structure

The MC is led by the MC President (MCP) and composed of MC Vice Presidents (MCVPs), each owning a functional portfolio. The exact composition may vary by term, but a typical MC in Denmark includes:

## The LC Interface

Each MCVP is the primary national contact for their functional counterpart at the LC level. The relationship works as follows:

| MC Role | LC Counterpart | Interaction |
| --------- | ------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------- |
| MCP | LCPs | Regular 1:1s, LCP summits, governance oversight |
| MCVP oGX | VP oGX / LCVP oGX | Functional coaching, target alignment, pipeline reviews |
| MCVP iCX | VP iCX / LCVP iCX | Functional coaching, project quality reviews |
| MCVP TM | VP TM | NEC delivery support, NMS coordination, TL development |
| MCVP MKT | VP MKT / MKT Lead | Campaign coordination, brand compliance, content support |
| MCVP BD | VP BD | Partnership strategy, sales support, revenue tracking |
| MCVP F\&L | VP F\&L / Treasurer | Financial reporting, audit preparation, legal compliance |

### How to Get the Most From Your MCVP

If you are a VP at the LC level:

1. **Be proactive.** Your MCVP wants to help, but they support multiple LCs. Reach out with specific questions.
2. **Come prepared.** When you have a coaching call, bring your data and your challenges — not just "things are fine."
3. **Use the resources they provide.** NEC materials, templates, and toolkits exist for a reason. Do not reinvent the wheel.
4. **Share what works.** If you discover something effective, tell your MCVP. They can spread it to other LCs.

## National Meetings

The MC facilitates several regular national touchpoints:

| Meeting | Frequency | Participants | Purpose |
| ----------------------- | -------------------- | ---------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **LCP Summit** | Quarterly (approx.) | All LCPs + MCP | Strategic alignment, best practices, collective problem-solving |
| **Functional Calls** | Monthly or bi-weekly | MCVP + all LC VPs in that function | Functional coaching, NEC delivery, pipeline reviews |
| **National Congress** | 1–2 per year | All LCs, MC, ECB | Governance decisions, MC election, strategy ratification |
| **National Conference** | 1–2 per year | All members | Education, motivation, team building, network expansion |
| **MC–ECB Meetings** | As needed | MC + ECB | Governance oversight, standing reviews, policy discussions |

## Applying to the MC

Serving on the MC is one of the most intensive and rewarding leadership experiences in AIESEC. If you are considering it, here is what to know.

* Have held a leadership role (VP, LCP, or equivalent)
* Demonstrate strong results in their current or most recent role
* Be available for a full-term commitment (typically one year, starting July)

### Application Process

The MC election process is governed by the National Compendium and typically follows this structure:

2. **Written application:** Candidates submit a vision document, action plan, and personal statement
3. **Q\&A and interviews:** Candidates may face questions from LCPs, the outgoing MC, the ECB, and the general membership
4. **Election:** Conducted at the National Congress through a vote (process varies — see the National Compendium for current rules)

{% hint style="warning" %}
The MC application and election process may change between terms. Always refer to the official announcement from the ECB or the outgoing MC for current timelines and requirements.
{% endhint %}
